Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
